Global Unusual Monthly Mean Temperatures and Precipitation

Abstract:
Monthly mean air temperature anomaly is considered an abnormally high temperature when it is greater than or equal to two times of standard deviations (Δ T ≧2σ). Monthly mean air temperature anomaly is considered an abnormally low temperature When it is below or equal to negative two times of standard deviations (ΔT ≦-2σ). Precipitation total is considered an abnormally dry condition When it is below or equal to the minimum for the base period. Precipitation total is considered an abnormally wet condition when it is above or equal to the maximum for the base period.
