ABI Level 2 All-Sky Radiance (ASR) - GOES-West

Abstract:
This is the ASR (All-Sky Radiance) product, a L2 product from the ABI instrument on-board NOAA's operational geostationary satellite in the GOES-West position (currently GOES-18 satellite). The ASR Level 2 ABI product contains radiance data as well as metadata for use in operational data assimilation applications. The 2 km infrared pixels are subset into 15x15 pixel processing boxes and combined with ABI L2 cloud products to allow assessment of the quality of the L1b data to calculate an optimal radiance value as well as useful quality control metrics. Each field in the ASR data is reduced by a factor of 225 from the original L1b data volume. The ASR product expands on the fields present in the Clear-Sky Radiance (CSR) product to include information about all pixels in the processing box as well as the subset of cloudy pixels.
