Atmospheric Sounding Service - Feng-Yun - 3 - Regional Data Service

Abstract:
EARS-VASS is composed of two products: Level 1b MWHS-II and MWTS-II. The data contain for all spectral channels and all Fields of view the calibrated and geolocated L1 data in BUFR format. The MWHS-II instrument has the ability to perform the vertical atmosphere sounding also in cloudy conditions. Like the MHS instrument on METOP and NOAA satellites, it focuses on the water vapour sounding of the upper Troposphere but provides in addition also information on temperature profiles. The MWTS-II instrument provides information on temperature profiles and is comparable to AMSU-A.
