Offline Absorbing Aerosol Index - Metop

Abstract:
The Absorbing Aerosol Indicator (ARS/AAI) indicates the presence of elevated absorbing aerosols in the Earth's atmosphere. Since it distinguishes between scattering and absorbing effects, it does not suffer much from cloud contamination. The aerosol types that are mostly seen are desert dust and biomass burning aerosols.
