Atlantic Sea Surface Temperature - Multimission

Abstract:
Estimation of Subskin SST (comparable to in situ measurements at night) derived from geostationary satellite data (MSG & GOES-E). Relation to bulk SST : equivalent to bulk SST by night. Relation to skin SST : by day and by night the subskin SST is convertible to skin temperature by subtracting 0.2K. The ATL SST will replace the LML SST in mid 2010.
