Precipitation Rate at Ground by LEO/MW supported by GEO/IR (with flag for phase) - Multimission

Abstract:
Instantaneous precipitation maps generated by PMW satellite sensors from operational satellites in sun-synchronous orbits, time-interpolated by exploiting the dynamical information observed on IR images from GEO. The algorithm performs the interpolation between two successive PMW images where the rain rates are retrieved. This method ('Morphing') is particularly suited for computing accumulated precipitation of use in hydrology.
