Abstract:
This is the field significant wave height of at least 4 m, probabilities, at surface, at area global, at forecast time-step 240 hours. It is produced by ECMWF Wave Ensemble Prediction System which runs twice a day (00 and 12 UTC). It produces useful information on the uncertainty in the sea state prediction which could be applied among other things to ship routes. The field is defined in a 0.5X0.5 latitude/longitude degree grid. It is distributed under 'WMO Additional' policy. This field is encoded in GRIB 2 and can be found in binary files with filenames like 'HJXT04ECEP030000_C_ECMF_20180703000000_240h_ep_swhg4_global_0p5deg_grib2.bin'
